The 1989/90 hockey season was one of the most successful ever. 1st and 2nd teams won their leagues and seven other tournaments. Lauri Kennedy (1st division) and Penny Thompson (2nd Division) were league top scorers and the 1st XI narrowly missed promotion to the Notts Sport North League.

Representative selecton for Kath Hinkles (North U21 and Northumberland 1st XI), Julie Russell (East of England U21), Jane Bradley (Northumberland 1st XI) Lauri, Dawn Nicholson and Barbara Sawyer (Norhtumberland 2nd XI), Ann Marie-Mohan and Michelle Robinson (NorthumberlandU18s) was most pleasing.

Success and wider recognition resulted in an invitation to the Dublin Hockey Festival over the Easter Weekend.
